Agent Bulldogg - “Stockholms Skinheads”

Here’s a great track from one of my favorite Scandinavian Oi! bands (from any country or time period) - and definitely a band that seems a little bit under-appreciated in the rest of the world!

Check out this song, “Stockholms Skinheads” from their album Livvstil (which means “Lifestyle” - obviously).  And, I’m sorry it’s been a while but I have definitely been slacking on the blog.  But — you can download the whole album HERE.

Enjoy!

The Veros - “Glory Boys”

This is an absolutely wonderful song from the French band, the Veros - one of the newer projects of Boni, from legendary French Oi! pioneers Snix, and his wife (who is actually named Vero).  Listen to this fucking song!  This is one of my favorite skinhead tunes, overall!

This is off their Glory Boys EP, which is fucking great.  There are only six songs (5 in English, 1 in French) - but sometimes short can be sweet.  Besides, I’m giving it to you to download for free - so there is no excuse not to check out this great French band!

Evil Skins - “Luxembourg”

Evil Skins are one of those bands that, if not for the language barrier, should be considered absolute Oi! / RAC legends worldwide.  They exclusively sang in their native French, but I feel like there’s something to be said for that as well.  I tend to love French Oi! - and these guys (along with Tolbiac’s Toads and Snix) absolutely ran the French skinhead scene in the ’80s.

It is very hard to find ANY info on this band, except in French.  As such, despite the fact that I absolutely love this shit, I still don’t know that much about this band.  I do know that their singer apparently was partially paralyzed from a bullet taken in the spine in a street fight… and still sang in the band for a few months afterward until it became impossible!  Jesus.

This is off the (more or less complete) discography CD L’Important C’Est De Gagner! (meaning “The Important Thing Is To Win!” in English).  As I’ve said a few times I suppose, I absolutely love this band.  If you are a fan of French Oi! then I definitely recommend that you download the whole album.  Click HERE for the download!  This download includes high-res scans of the entire CD book and all packaging (in French) as well - so it is about 100 mg, but absolutely worth it.  Enjoy!

D.A. - “Os Males Da Terceirizacao”

Awesome girl-fronted skinhead band from Sao Paulo, Brazil.  They were formerly known as Defesa Armada (“Armed Defense” in English), but have since shortened their name just to D.A.  They have a very RAC lyrical stance - but the music itself is actually punk as fuck!  It reminds me a little of South American “raw punk” stuff, down to goth influences in some songs.

Anyway, this band is great and I’ve been listening to this all the time.  They really sound more like a good fast-paced punk band than typical Oi! or RAC stuff.  Real noisy parts that are almost Disorder-y.  I love it!

This is from their album Músicas para a família.  Click HERE for the download!

No Way Out - Boots and Beer

No Way Out was my street punk band, from ‘05 to ‘08 - before I got “shaved in”, if you will.  A lot of our songs were more “hardcore punk” than anything else - but this particular song definitely had an Oi! feel and “message”.  The message being, of course, that we liked to get drunk and fight.  Deep.

The song title started as a joke, and the whole song (music, lyrics, and all) was “reverse-engineered” from the title, haha.  Basically, we decided we were going to write a song called “Boots and Beer” and this is what we ended up with!  This was absolutely one of the best NWO songs.

That is yours truly on the vocals, back in my PUNX days.  I am mostly posting it for the nostalgia.  This was one that all the local skins always got into!  Cheers!

Brutal Attack - Stronger Than Before

Apparently some dumbasses absolutely misinterpret my intentions… But, since it’s actually been a little while since I’ve put up some good ol’ RAC - here is one of the definite classics!  Brutal Attack is one of those bands that, politics aside, were an absolute defining group in the evolution of the sound of skinhead rock’n’roll.  Some of the later stuff is not really up my alley, but 1986’s Stronger Than Before is an absolutely flawless album.

Click HERE for the download!  I think almost anyone into Oi! or RAC would love this album.

Battalion 86 - S.T.A.C.

The title of this song stands for “Steel Toe Alarm Clock” - which I have always loved!  Sometimes that is about the only way to give someone a wake-up call!

Anyway, this band is from my hometown - Richmond, VA!  They were definitely one of the first outright Oi! bands I was ever exposed to, locally or otherwise.  They formed sometime in the late ’90s (probably ‘98 or so - not 100% sure) and played shows until about 2003, doing occasional reunion gigs after.

They had an extremely patriotic and nationalist attitude, and were at times accused of racism - but that simply was not true!  One of the things that really turned me onto this band as a kid was that there were always punks AND skinheads in the band.  In the later years, they also had a hardcore kid (and also one of my friends), Greg,  playing bass.  So, kinda like Blitz and other bands like that in the ’80s in the UK, Battalion 86 really tried to bring the different factions together - which has not always been the case here, for sure!

This is from their album And the Spirit Survives… from 2002.  13 hard-hitting Oi! tracks with a definite hardcore influence, including their take on the Last Resort classic “Violence In Our Minds”.  Click HERE to download the whole album.  Oi!

Close Shave - Ding Dong Merrily Oi! Oi!

I think this was going around Tumblr already, and I may have even posted it?  But at any rate, I almost never use the daily music upload on my personal blog - so I decided to put up one more Christmas song.

This is from Close Shave, a band playing the good ol’ fashioned British Oi! that anyone reading this blog probably loves.  Hard As Nails is the album this is on… and even though this is the only Christmas-themed song on the album, I’m going ahead and uploading that for you guys too!  Once again - Merry Fucking Christmas!

Youth Defense League - Skinheads 88

This is an often misunderstood band from the era of skinhead hardcore bands from NYC.  According to the band themselves, the “88” in the song title refers to the year this was released.  However, this song has definitely been seen in other ways, and has been covered by outright WP bands such as Bulldog Breed.  At any rate, this is a great track, and any skinhead into hardcore should be singing along with this or getting the fuck out.

This song is available now on the Voice Of Brooklyn 12” which pretty much compiles everything the band ever recorded, especially if you get the version with the bonus 7” with the Skins For Skins demo tracks as well.  I think none of this stuff is available on CD - still.  Could be wrong.  I have made a .rar file of Voice Of Brooklyn along with the bonus 7” - so you can basically download a YDL discography all in one file.  Click HERE for the download!

Bull The Buffalos - Samurai

Yes, the spelling and capitalization of this Japanese band’s name is intentional (on my end, anyway).  This is from the absolutely great album Werewolfen: The Japanese Samurai Compilation from ‘95.  This comp is essentially a showcase of bands involved in the Samurai Spirit Skinheads crew.  I would love to get more into the history of that - but this is not the time or place!  At any rate, besides BTB, this has songs by Bad Vultures, Cannons, Ouka, Ikazuchi, and perhaps the most famous of the SSS bands, Sledge Hammer.  There is not one bad (or even mediocre!) song on this comp - so check it out.  This is the album that put their scene on the map!

If you are a fan of this blog… then you should really download this album.  Haha,  Click HERE for the download.  You are welcome.

Iron Cross - Psycho Skin

This is a classic track, by one of the very first skinhead bands - if not THE first - from the States.  This had some controversial lyrics, but what the band said in interviews at the time was that the song was about the mindset it portrayed - and that they are not necessarily condoning or condemning those actions.  This is from the Skinhead Glory EP, released on Ian MacKaye’s famous Discord Records label.  You can download the whole EP, including 4 out-take tracks, HERE.

This is the mp3 track of the song from the video I posted a little while ago - and this is the first time it is available as an mp3, as far as I am aware!  I ripped the sound myself, removed hum, made it louder… blah blah blah.  Enjoy!

The mp3 can be downloaded HERE.
