Things are just getting started here on the blog / news site for Patriotic Voice Skin Zine. Just to make things clear, this blog will ONLY have information on the zine itself, and how to order it. This is a print zine along the lines of the classic zines from the ’80s and ’90s.
Issue #1 is being worked on as you read this - and will be in print any day now. We are expecting to have ‘em in the street some time in April or AT LATEST in early May.
While there are perhaps hundreds of so-called “skinhead” blogs on Tumblr (and AT LEAST dozens…) at varying degrees of quality and amounts of idealistic delusion, there has been a total void in the American Oi! scene of an actual print skinhead fanzine. THAT is where Patriotic Voice comes in.
So, thanks for checking us out - and stay tuned to this blog for more info on how to get your copy of issue one when it is out! I am not 100% sure on the pricing yet, but I believe we will be able to sell them for $2 in person, $3 shipped in the US, $4 shipped in the rest of North America, and $5 shipped in the rest of the world. That’s right - anywhere in the world you will be able get one by mail for $5 or less via a PayPal shop we will have set up! And it should be out very soon.
While this zine is just beginning, we hope to become a fixture in the American and worldwide skinhead and Oi! scenes. We hope to see the real skins and bootboys nationwide and worldwide come together to TAKE BACK OUR SCENE!
Please take the time to add my new blog which is for news and updates on my upcoming PRINT zine! It will be cheap and can be shipped worldwide! It isn’t out yet, but if you have liked this blog’s content you will love the print magazine! Thanks for reading!
Please add my new Tumblr - which is for information and news regarding my upcoming PRINT skinhead zine - Patriotic Voice!
Again, this new Tumblr is NOT the zine itself - it will just contain info on how to purchase the upcoming print zine. It’s going to be good, and I would love it if you guys show me the same support there as you have for this blog!
The costs aren’t set yet, but I am thinking it will be no more than $2-3 shipped within the US, and no more than $5 or so international. So it will be affordable even on a working class budget. I bet some of you kids don’t even remember how cool it is to get stuff in the mail! So please check it out - and when it is out in the next 3 weeks or so, grab a copy!
One of my absolute favorite punk songs of all time!
Fuck yes! Late Christmas present to myself.
I got this from Micetrap Records - one of the best US sites for this “type of thing” haha. I’m a little iffy on supporting a lot of those distributors, but this is one of the few that I do feel at least ok giving money to. Check ‘em out for all kinds of good RAC merch at reasonable prices.
Evil Skins are one of those bands that, if not for the language barrier, should be considered absolute Oi! / RAC legends worldwide. They exclusively sang in their native French, but I feel like there’s something to be said for that as well. I tend to love French Oi! - and these guys (along with Tolbiac’s Toads and Snix) absolutely ran the French skinhead scene in the ’80s.
It is very hard to find ANY info on this band, except in French. As such, despite the fact that I absolutely love this shit, I still don’t know that much about this band. I do know that their singer apparently was partially paralyzed from a bullet taken in the spine in a street fight… and still sang in the band for a few months afterward until it became impossible! Jesus.
This is off the (more or less complete) discography CD L’Important C’Est De Gagner! (meaning “The Important Thing Is To Win!” in English). As I’ve said a few times I suppose, I absolutely love this band. If you are a fan of French Oi! then I definitely recommend that you download the whole album. Click HERE for the download! This download includes high-res scans of the entire CD book and all packaging (in French) as well - so it is about 100 mg, but absolutely worth it. Enjoy!
Awesome girl-fronted skinhead band from Sao Paulo, Brazil. They were formerly known as Defesa Armada (“Armed Defense” in English), but have since shortened their name just to D.A. They have a very RAC lyrical stance - but the music itself is actually punk as fuck! It reminds me a little of South American “raw punk” stuff, down to goth influences in some songs.
Anyway, this band is great and I’ve been listening to this all the time. They really sound more like a good fast-paced punk band than typical Oi! or RAC stuff. Real noisy parts that are almost Disorder-y. I love it!
This is from their album Músicas para a família. Click HERE for the download!
